ok.hi! well im 22 and i have a lil sister who is 17. we never got along until recently and shes grown up a lot, isnt the lil pesty brat she used to be.it became fun to go shopping, hang out, or just be dumb with her.i moved about an hour and a half away about 3 months ago, and i felt horrible "leaving" her but it was for my education and my husband started running his own shop and besides my husband she truly knows my deepest darkest secrets, well 2 weeks ago she started talking to this boy, he seems nice hes 18, is in army reserves seems to really like her...well they had kinda knew each other because they live in a small town but they met up tuesday and then started dating. they have spent EVERYDAY together since then. well we had been planning for her to come over thanksgiving break i would pick her up sunday, and when we went to our grandparents thursday she would just go home with our parents, well she got all into this guy and asked if it was "cool" if she didnt come over.i said i didnt mind but i feel ditched.and i feel a lil pathetic because im the older sister.shes always looked up to me and so quick she wanted to spend the time we planned to hang out with him. i might be over reacting, but my feelings are a lil hurt.im not gonna make her feel bad about it because shes happy, but...ugh im hurt.what do you think?am i bein a lame-o or what???thanks for your thoughts!!She is just happy she has a new boyfriend. She doesn't mean to ditch you so don't feel hurt by it. Talk to her and tell her how you feel. Good luck! Yeah I think you're overreacting...A girl at 17 will always prefer to be with her boy. Its nothing personal but, its gonna be that way until she gets over the excitement of her new boyfriend...its just one of those things. Don't worry tho...she still loves you.You can't help the way you feel and if you are hurt than that is what it is. Do not visit these feelings on to your sister however because she is only 17. Of course she is going to ditch you for a guy. I am sure when you were 17 and found a new guy you invested all your time in him. Let her be.
