    Thanks :D

  • Battle of Hampton Roads.

Southern naval exasperation and creativity devised the first ironclad ship, CSS Virginia.

  • Well, the 5 main causes leading up to the civil war were the following â ¦
    1. The abolitionist (anti slavery) movement in the north
    2. Economic tensions between the north and south
    3. Cultural differences between the north and south
    4. The election of Abraham Lincoln
    5. The fight over whether or not newly admitted states would be slave states or slave free states

As for the illustration, you could draw a picture of one of the battle's between the union and confederate soldiers, like with the northern soldiers holding the union flag (the stars and stripes) and the other confederate soldiers holding the confederate flag.

  • How about Andersonville prison? So many prisoners of war died there. Andersonville's commanding officer was the only man tried for war crimes from the Civil War.
Causes were: hasty construction, overcrowding, poor hygiene, malnutrition, poor leadership

  • One of the main causes was the extreme cultural and economical difference between the north and the south. The south was mainly agricultural, so they needed slaves to do their work. The north was mainly industrial, so they did not need slaves. Because the north did not need slaves to do their work, there was room for them to learn to oppose the practice, and this was how abolitionism came into being.

A huge problem that the north had with congress at the time was the congressional imbalance: slaves counted for three fifths of a slave state's population (major plantations had a LOT of slaves), and since the north had smaller states anyway, this meant that southern states had far more seats in the House of Representatives than northern states.
