Hello. Here is a picture of my network (sorry, I'm not a computer
guy). http://www.raspyni.com/network_map.gif
All the details are on the drawing and the problem is stated at the
bottom. I can easily answer more questions if needed for diagnosis.
Thanks.
BarryI would check with your ISP. A lot of providers give priority to VOIP
internet traffic over everything else to ensure a solid level of
service. This could be the root of your problem.Greetings,
I have a couple of quick questions for you which may help us solve
your problem. You mentioned that is your third router to have the
same problem.
*Have they all been the same model?
*Do any of the computers use bit torrent on your network?
*Is the router WEP protected or MAC address filtering to protect your
network from other people accessing it?
Best,
djbaker-gaRouters: Yes, all three have been (and still is) Lynksys RT31P2
Bit Torrent: Without knowing exactly what that means I can say "no".
I looked it up online and I have nothing like that on this network.
Protection: No WEP, no MAC. I live on a bunch of acres far away from
anyone. Never bothered to turn it on.
Funniest thing in the world: It hasn't happened today a single time!
First time in about a year I haven't had to wait while the router
found itself again (or power cycle it to speed up the process).
Thanks.
